This special issue of TEANGA, the Journal of the Irish Association for Applied Linguistics, focuses on recent and momentous discourses of Ireland. It brings together papers from scholars who discuss and challenge discourses in various fields such as politics, identity, gender, health and migration.  What all the researchers and the papers share is their methodological approach and their common interest in discourse analysis: each employing methods of discourse analysis / critical discourse analysis from their own disciplinary perspectives.
